How much does a LocalAd postcard cost?

Two ways to buy. Share a card and a category-exclusive slot runs $349 to $2,699, depending on position and how many homes the drop reaches (5,000, 10,000, 20,000, or 30,000). What is the smallest drop I can buy?

A Route Test, at $1,399. It puts your card, and only your card, in every mailbox on 2 carrier routes, about 900 to 1,400 homes in your ZIP. USPS sells Every Door Direct Mail by the whole carrier route, so you buy routes rather than a door count, and we choose the pair from the USPS route map for that ZIP. You do not pick the routes and you will not see them before you pay. Book a bigger drop in the same ZIP within 90 days of your mail date and the whole $1,399 comes off it, on the whole card or on a single shared slot.

Can I own the whole postcard instead of sharing it?

Yes. A solo drop puts your business alone on the card: the entire front, edge to edge, with the back carrying the postal address and nothing else. It mails to every door on the USPS carrier routes we mail in your ZIP. The 5,000-home card is $4,399, it ships within 3 weeks of purchase on a guaranteed date, and it runs in any US ZIP with residential mail delivery. There is no zone to wait for, because you are the only advertiser.

Are there any subscriptions or retainers?

No. LocalAd is pay-per-drop. If you don't buy a slot, you're not billed. No minimums, no lock-ins.

How do I pay?

All payments run through our secure payment processor. We accept major credit cards. We do not store your card number; our payment processor handles that.

What are design credits?

Every account gets 5 free AI designs every 30 days, rising to 10 once you have paid for a drop. The allowance covers your whole account, not each ad. To iterate further you can top up with a bundle: 20 credits for $15 or 50 credits for $25 (about 33% cheaper per credit on the larger bundle). You only pay for designs you ask for, and you are never billed for an ad you do not approve.

What does 'category-exclusive' mean?

On a shared card, only one business per trade rides along. If you're the plumber on a drop, no other plumber shares that card, and your neighbors see exactly one choice in your category. A solo drop takes it further: the whole card is yours, so there is no other business on the piece at all.

Do I design the ad myself?

No. We generate print-ready designs from your business info: logo, offer, phone, website. You preview, tweak, and approve. First five generations are free.

What happens after I approve the design?

Once your drop reaches its minimum fill, the card goes to print on premium cardstock and is handed to USPS for Every Door Direct Mail delivery. Every ad carries a unique QR code we generate for you.

How do I track results?

Every ad has a unique QR code that resolves through localad.io/q/<code> to your destination URL. Every scan (timestamp, device class, approximate location, unique visitors) lands in your dashboard in real time.

Can I change my destination URL after the card is mailed?

Yes. The QR code points through our redirect, so you can update the destination URL at any time from your dashboard as long as it follows our ad content policy.

How many homes does a drop reach?

Zones come in four standard sizes: 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, and 30,000 homes. Every home in the zone gets the card. No mailing list required, no opt-in list to buy.

How often do zones drop?

A shared zone ships once it reaches its minimum fill, so the cadence follows demand rather than a fixed calendar. The scheduled drop date for any zone is shown in checkout before you pay, and a solo card ships on a guaranteed date about three weeks out.

What if my zone doesn't fill?

If a drop doesn't reach its minimum fill, we cancel it within 24 hours and email every buyer. You then pick: roll your ad over to the next drop in that zone (the default), take a 12-month store credit, or get a full refund. You have 7 days to choose.

Can I buy multiple zones at once?

Yes. There is no cap. Each zone is priced and checked out separately, so you can buy as many adjacent zones as you want and stagger the spend across them.

Can I cancel after I've paid?

Yes, as long as your card hasn't entered production yet (typically 7 days before the drop date). Cancel before print and you get a full refund to your original payment method. Once the card is printed, the order is final.

What happens to my money if the drop is canceled?

You choose: roll over to the next drop, take a store credit (valid 12 months), or get a full refund to the original card within 5–10 business days.

What's your chargeback policy?

Initiating a chargeback for a delivered ad is a breach of our Terms of Service. We'll contest it and may suspend your account. If you have an issue, email hello@localad.io first. We'll make it right.

What data do you collect?

Account info (name, email, password hash), purchase info (business details and order history; our payment processor handles card numbers), and QR scan events (timestamp, IP, user agent, approximate geo). See the Privacy Policy for the full list.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell data, don't share it with ad networks, and don't run marketing pixels on the site. Your scan data belongs to you.

How long do you keep my data?

QR scan data is retained for 24 months. Account data lives until you request deletion. Email hello+privacy@localad.io and we'll remove everything we're legally allowed to.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Email hello+privacy@localad.io from the address on file. We'll remove your account and personal data (we may keep minimal records required for tax and audit purposes).
